The faucet "travel bag" came in SO handy when we took it up to St. Louis with us. To be honest, I couldn't get it away from the guys. Anyhow, I almost had to resort to throwing punches to get my soap. :) Needless to say, it was a hit. -Jami, Florida

One of our customers returned today to get more of the Citronella Grapefruit Faucet Soaps for her friends and family. She claims she took it camping, washed, and stayed mosquito free. We need more to keep in stock!

Inspiration From the Great Salt Lake

I just back from the OR trade show in Salt Lake City, Utah where I found a beautiful treasure and a fun adventure! I recently learned that the Great Salt Lake is actually the remainder of prehistoric Lake Bonneville, is pretty shallow, has no fish, and is more salty than the ocean.

My inspiration has always come from nature. I love creating art and products based on my life! I felt a sweet tingling from the salt on my legs and an exfoliation from the natural salt beneath my feet. Honestly, I created Good Fortune mineral salt soaks years ago because of the many healing benefits of salt.

I loved the dramatic clouds and the fast approaching storm. My trip was very surreal!

I'm inspired and encouraged to add flavor to our beautiful world. I hope my words and stories help give you a taste of our Father's sweet promises and blessings!

You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall it saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. —Matthew 5:13-16

The Healing Benefits of Natural Salts

According to the article, What Are Sea Salt Soaks? by CJ Lundquist, sea salt contains about 80 mineral elements that the body needs. Salt is invigorating because they increase blood circulation and stimulate the body's natural release of toxins through the skin, promoting clean, healthy, glowing skin. Sea salt also kills germs and bacteria on the skin, leaving the skin feeling smooth and smelling fresh and clean.

Salt is one of God's secret healing ingredients, and we love it!Link

Make your own salt scrub!
  1. Go ahead and make yourself a nice hot bath.
  2. Sit over the tub with ingredients near by.
  3. Start with a palm full of Good Fortune's eucalyptus mint lime mineral salts.
  4. Then add one pump of our eucalyptus mint lime body oil.
  5. Scrub your feet, ankles, and legs over the tub (allowing it to crumble in the water).
  6. Finally, go ahead and toss a few more salts in the tub.
  7. Before you dry off, rub the body oil all over your skin for the best (non-greasy) moisturizer ever!
  8. Relax....

Soap Making in Haiti

Whether you spoke Creole or English, the excitement during all of my soap making classes was unmistakable. I'm so proud to say that I taught over 50 people to make natural glycerin soap in Haiti last week, and was able to share my testimony on how God gave me the vision to start Good Fortune. My wonderful translator, Filder, helped me explain my story and the process of cutting, melting, and pouring soap to my new friends. I hope you enjoy the images of all my beautiful new friends. Their faces make me smile everyday. They inspire me by giving me hope and remind me of how God gives His children strength, even through storms.

When told that 100% of the money from this soap would come back them in a few weeks, applause broke out! Humbly, I thank you, because $5 is one week’s salary in Haiti, and your purchase is making a HUGE difference in these people’s lives. Purchase a handmade soap from Haiti today.

Thank you for helping plant seeds! As the Scriptures say, “A farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.” —2 Corinthians 9:6-9

Hope in Haiti: An Interview with Filder

I recently visited Port Au Prince Haiti to teach soap making to the caretakers at For His Glory Orphanage, and was blessed by the beautiful people I met. Yes, Haiti is filled with tragic stories, but it is also filled with hope.

Check out this amazing story!! On Monday morning our special missions teams were gearing up to start counseling and soap sessions, but needed a translator. Amazingly, Filder was praying for work and God told him to go directly to the orphanage (a place he'd visited once a long time ago). I kid you not....Filder got dressed, walked to the orphanage, and knocked on the door the moment we realized we needed a translator. I still can't figure it out? Talk about God's perfect timing!

Watch my interview with Filder, and hear how he lost his parents, job, and home due to the earthquake, but still stands strong on God's promises. I hope you are encouraged by my friend's boldness for the Lord and his spirit to keep on going.

More Haiti soap making videos are coming, and don't forget to show your support and buy a soap handmade in Haiti.
