This verse truly is the secret to my success! I have peace, I don't stay stressed, I have the best sleep of my life.
"I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity and restore your fortunes." (—Jeremiah 29:11-14)
Practically speaking, can you find a life & business coach better than the Creator of all things? We're all inspired by a leader that pushes us ahead, and believes we can do the tasks given to us. God is that leader, and he already knows our plans and wants us to prosper. Seriously, my only hope is in Him, and things are good!
For me, the first challenge was to surrender the things I loved & feared the most (my business and finances). To allow God to be in complete control of my plans and to believe that He wants me to prosper.
Secondly, I have to pray about all decisions and plans. After all, once you truly surrender, they aren't yours anymore. He asks that we seek Him with all our heart and He will listen. Which means we are to pray in the good times as well as the bad, and trust he's actually listening. To be in His presence and to be known by Him is so comforting, and is the best feeling ever!
Finally, I have to make sure my motives are aligned with His and be willing to walk away when they are not. His promise is not to harm us or hold us captive, but to set us free and live with freedom. Faith is something that requires practice, so I encourage you to start somewhere, surrender, and seek. Don't expect everything to be easy, but do trust that the Lord knows your plans. Try walking in faith and see where it leads you!
